Protocol and International Relations

The Office of Protocol and International Relations is a department of the Mayor’s Office of Economic Development. The mission of the office is to support activities that drive international cooperation and understanding, as well as serve as the official host for visiting dignitaries. The office works closely with city government, international community organizations and the private sector to promote business and cultural exchange and in community relations. The office also serves as the official liaison to the Consular Corps of New Orleans.

The office provides the following services to ensure positive development in global relations:
  • Hosting visiting Government Dignitaries
  • Serving as liaison to New Orleans' Consular Corps
  • Coordinating Sister Cities programs
  • Assisting in the development of Trade Agreements
  • Assisting local International Community Organizations
  • Advising in matters of Protocol

Louisiana Consular Bulletin

The Louisiana Consular Bulletin is published by the Office of International Relations to promote the 52 Consulates in Louisiana by highlighting their accomplishements and by providing useful and timely information about the programs and services offered by the countries they represent.
