City of New Orleans Master Plan
The City Planning Commission has released a March 20 Working Draft of the Master Plan – a blueprint for the future of New Orleans. To view the plan and be informed of upcoming public meetings, visit the project website at www.nolamasterplan.org
The City Planning Commission wants everyone in New Orleans to be informed about and participate in the creation of the city's Master Plan _ our blueprint for the next 20 years- and the development of new, user-friendly Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance (CZO). Your participation will help ensure that these important city documents will reflect our community's vision and goals for the future, the policies that we want to follow, and the strategies that we decide to pursue to achieve the vision. Follow this project through www.nolamasterplan.org .

Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance

In the City of New Orleans, land is regulated by a document called the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance or the CZO. This ordinance along with zoning base maps shows the physical boundaries of the zoning districts. To determine the current zoning of a particular property, you would first look at the zoning map to see what district your property falls in and then consult the current zoning ordinance.
