Planning Consulting Services to Complete the New Orleans Master Plan and The Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance (CZO)
Request for Proposals: The City of New Orleans desires to obtain proposals for professional planning services for two major projects:
- Project #1: Completion of the City’s Master Plan
- Project #2: Completion of the City’s Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance (CZO) and corresponding Zoning Base Maps.
Deadline for submitting RFP is 4 p.m. (CST) on Friday September 21, 2007

Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance
In the City of New Orleans, land is regulated by a document called the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance or the CZO. This ordinance along with zoning base maps shows the physical boundaries of the zoning districts. To determine the current zoning of a particular property, you would first look at the zoning map to see what district your property falls in and then consult the current zoning ordinance.
