Louisiana Law R.S. 44:3 prohibits disclosure of records of the information contained therein held by police departments is not required when the records of information pertain to (but are not limited to): Examples below
- Pending criminal litigation
- Information related to an ongoing investigation
- Juvenile Records
- Certain personal information
The New Orleans Police reserves the right to furnish copies of documents in lieu of inspection in order to provide for the protection of the records and to prevent interference with the regular discharge of the duties of the New Orleans Police and its members.
