Ready America The Ready Campaign asks individuals to do three key things to prepare for the unexpected: get an emergency supply kit, make a family emergency plan, and be informed about the different types of emergencies that could occur and their appropriate responses.
 
City of New Orleans Office of Emergency Preparedness The New Orleans Office of Emergency Preparedness is responsible for the response and coordination of those actions needed to protect the lives and property of its citizens from natural or man-made disasters as well as emergency planning for the City of New Orleans.
 
U.S. Department of Homeland Security The U.S. Department of Homeland Security leads the unified national effort to secure America. They prevent and deter terrorist attacks and protect against and respond to threats and hazards to the nation. They ensure safe and secure borders, welcome lawful immigrants and visitors, and promote the free-flow of commerce.
 
  The New Orleans Office of Homeland Security has operational and planning authority for the New Orleans Police Department, New Orleans Fire Department, New Orleans Office of Emergency Preparedness, and the Office of Criminal Justice Coordination.
