One New Orleans Conversation  Episode 6

This month’s One New Orleans Conversation features the Backstreet Cultural Museum and an update from the Department of Public Works.

Writer Sarah Broom interviews Mr. Sylvester Francis, the founder and owner of the Backstreet Cultural Museum, an expert in the local African-American heritage, an active member of the community and a respected authority on local cultural traditions.


Robert Mendoza, Director of the Department of Public Works, gives an update from the Michoud Bridge Project in New Orleans East, as the project comes to completion. He highlights new bridge improvements as well as the other types of projects going on throughout the city, such as FEMA Eligible Repairs and the Submerged Roads Program.
