On May 31, 2007, Mayor Nagin delivered his fourth State of the City Address. Held at the National World War II Museum, 945 Magazine Street, it was Mayor Nagin's first State of the City Address since Hurricane Katrina.
Mayor Nagin spoke about the resilience that citizens have shown since the Hurricanes and flooding of New Orleans:
My friends, the state of our city is determined and strong. We have endured and survived more than many thought possible. Our financial status is stable and improving. Our citizens are returning. And people throughout the nation continue to demonstrate their love and compassion for New Orleans.
