Jeb S. Tate
Public Information Officer

Jeb S. Tate is currently supporting the Emergency Medical Services division as the Public Information Officer, and handles public affairs for New Orleans EMS. Mr. Tate has been in the medical field for over a decade, completing his paramedic training at nineteen years of age, one of the youngest medics in the state at the time he earned this certification.

Prior to his arrival with the City of New Orleans, Mr. Tate served in the emergency medical field in the state’s capitol. While working for New Orleans EMS, Mr. Tate earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Louisiana State University Health Science Center School of Nursing, and is currently a Registered Nurse. Additional coursework includes: the Public Information Officer course through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and Louisiana Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness; Emergency Management Institute courses on the National Information Management System, and; communications courses for emergency personnel.

In addition to his assignment as Public Information Officer, Mr. Tate is also liaison to New Orleans Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness. He has worked several national disasters, including most recently Hurricanes Gustav and Ike. Mr. Tate is a native Louisianan, and has chosen to reside in the City of New Orleans. He is very proud of his Mid City community.
