Cedric Palmisano
Planning Coordinator / Liaison of EOC

Cedric Palmisano is the New Orleans EMS Planning Coordinator; during times of disaster Mr. Palmisano performs duties as the EMS Liaison to the New Orleans Emergency Operations Center (EOC). As the EMS liaison to the EOC, Mr. Palmisano’s responsibilities include coordinating local, state, and federal emergency medical response pre and post disaster as well as mass surge events. As the EMS planning coordinator, he is responsible for planning and coordinating medical coverage for special events including Mardi Gras, French Quarter Festival, the Mardi Gras Marathon, holiday events and any other event that may require an EMS presence in Orleans Parish. He is the point of contact for anyone requiring medical coverage at an event. He assists organizations with the EMS portion of their event plan and occasionally can be found overseeing EMS coverage at events.

Mr. Palmisano is a Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic and has been in EMS since 1994. He started as a Volunteer in Government of Responsibility (V.I.G.O.R.) with New Orleans EMS in summer of 1994. He became an employee of the City in the spring of 1996. In 2005 after Hurricane Katrina, Mr. Palmisano was assigned to the New Orleans EOC where he spent many long days working to get the city back on its feet. He was the Medical Branch Leader at the Union Passenger Terminal during the Hurricane Gustav evacuation and repopulation in fall of 2008.

He is the proud parent of two wonderful children. He is a graduate of Brother Martin High School class of 1992 and Graduated from Delgado Community College in 1998 with an Associates Degree of Science / paramedic. He served in the Louisiana Army National Guard from 1998 to 2004 as a flight medic (DUSTOFF) with the 812th Medical Company (Air Ambulance). Prior to leaving the military Mr. Palmisano spent his last year of service on active duty in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
