NREMT– Basic

Job Title: EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN, ASSISTANT

Salary: $11.96 - $11.96 hourly
$957.00 - $957.00 biweekly
$2,073.50 - $2,073.50 monthly
$24,882.00 - $24,882.00 annually

Description: Specialized work, under professional supervision, in the receipt of emergency medical calls, dispatching of appropriate emergency medical vehicles, driving emergency medical vehicles (specifically ambulance type vehicles), transportation and care of patients to a medical facility, and administration of basic emergency medical aid; and related work as required.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Note: Applicants must present their original certificates at the time of application. Applicants must obtain the license issued by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners during their probationary period, and must update their National Registry Certification every two (2) years. Applicants must obtain a license issued by the New Orleans Health Department within the first 90 days of employment.

NREMT– Intermediate

Job Title: EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN, INTERMEDIATE

Salary: $12.57 - $12.57 hourly
$1,005.73 - $1,005.73 biweekly
$2,179.08 - $2,179.08 monthly
$26,149.00 - $26,149.00 annually

Description: Responsible specialized work, under the direction of a physician, in the recognition, assessment, and control of medical emergencies; driving of emergency medical vehicles (specifically ambulance type vehicles), transportation and care of patients to a medical facility, and related work as required.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Possession of a current provisional or permanent National Registry Certification as an Emergency Medical Technician Intermediate.

NOTE: Applicants must present their original certificates at the time of application. Applicants must obtain the license issued by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners during their probationary period, and must update their National Registry Certification every two (2) years.

NREMT– Paramedic

Job Title: EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN, PARAMEDIC

Salary: $19.18 - $19.18 hourly
$1,534.35 - $1,534.35 biweekly
$3,324.42 - $3,324.42 monthly
$39,893.00 - $39,893.00 annually

Description: Highly responsible specialized work, under the direction of a physician, in the recognition, assessment, and control of medical emergencies; transportation and care of patients to a medical facility, and related work as required.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Possession of a current provisional or permanent National Registry Certification as an Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic.

EMT Volunteer

Title: V.I.G.O.R.

Salary: No Salary

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Possession of a current provisional or permanent National Registry Certification as an Emergency Medical Technician Basic, Intermediate, or Paramedic.
