Americans With Disabilities Act

City of New Orleans Mayor's Council for Citizens with Disabilities

Welcome to New Orleans!

If you are a citizen of our wonderful City of New Orleans or a guest, we want you to know that we are striving to make New Orleans accessible to everyone!

It is a goal of the City to develop and maintain a website that is accessible to all. At this time, not all Web content on CityofNo.com is ADA compliant. The Mayor’s Office of Technology is committed to creating new content and redesigning existing content in agreement with World-Wide Web Consortium’s (W3C) Web Accessibility Guidelines. We invite comments regarding the improvement of our site's accessibility for users with disabilities.

The Human Relations Commission of the City of New Orleans administers and oversees compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. Our mission is to serve as an advocate and provide information for people with disabilities.

Street improvements, curb cuts and more accessible parking spaces are high on our agenda. The City is working hard to make all buildings, programs and facilities available and accessible to all people. Access is our goal! Please know that I will lead New Orleans into complete compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act! Not only is it the law, it is the right thing to do!
