The 2008 supplemental bills are now available.  If you are expecting a change to your 2008 tax assessment and the change order has been submitted and approved by the Louisiana Tax Commission as of  July 16, 2008,  your new bill is now available on the city’s web site; www.cityofno.com.  If the bill was paid in advance of the change order and a refund may be due, the refund applications will be mailed shortly.

DELINQUENT BILLING

Delinquent bills were mailed out the week of  July 14, 2008.   If you have questions regarding a delinquent bill you received please call the toll free number 1-888-860-0449.

Requesting Real Estate Tax Bills

This website should be used by mortgage companies to request bills for properties on which they hold a first mortgage.  A mortgage company should request a mortgage code and use this code to request bills and the type of bills requested.  Even if the mortgage company is not requesting a bill but holds the first mortgage on the property, the mortgage company should select “none” as the bill type.  This will update the Treasury’s records and facilitate any necessary communication with the mortgage company.

For larger mortgage companies there will be a means by which the company can upload a file to the Bureau of Treasury to request bills.

Payment of Tax Bills
This web site will provide two methods of payment for mortgage companies in addition to the traditional method of payment with a paper bill.

Both mortgage companies and the public will be able to pay individual tax bills with an ACH payment.  This method will allow you to view the bill detail. However, you will only be able to pay the bill in full. So that a partial payment is correctly applied we suggest you make any partial payment in person or by mail to:

City of New Orleans, Bureau of the Treasury
1300 Perdido St.
Rm 1W38
New Orleans, La. 70112.

You will also be able to pay multiple bills by uploading a file to the Bureau of Treasury.  The total of this file can be paid by check or wire.  This method is designed for payment of a large quantity of bills.

Website Developments
Some of the above improvements may not be available immediately, but will be added daily.  Please check back often for new developments.  Feel free to contact us at bureauoftreasury@cityofno.com with any suggestions for improvements.
